Day 01

Airport - Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and receive a traditional “Ayubowan” welcome. Meet your representative at the airport. Transfer to your hotel in Negombo. Discuss the tour itinerary with your guide or chauffeur. Arrange the checkout time for the next morning. Relax and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02

Negombo - Anuradhapura

After breakfast, depart from Negombo and stop at the Negombo Dry Fish Market & Fresh Fish Market. Continue your journey through the town of Chilaw before reaching Anuradhapura. As an optional activity, you may visit Mihintale, the birthplace of Sri Lankan Buddhism.

Day 03

Explore Anuradhapura

Today, enjoy a scheduled bicycle tour of the city. Explore the ruins and visit the sacred old Bo Tree, which symbolizes the origins of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. See grand stupas and statues of Buddha scattered across woodlands and parks.

Day 04

Anuradhapura - Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, travel to Polonnaruwa via Habarana by public bus and private vehicle. Explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa by bicycle. Visit palaces, temples, and stupas. See the 14-meter-high granite Buddha statues depicting the reclining Buddha.
Visit the grand seven-floor palace of a king and the museum with scale models of ancient buildings.

Day 05

Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya

Depart from Polonnaruwa in the morning and travel to Sigiriya. Visit the Dambulla Cave Temples located on a rocky cliff. Climb the steps to explore five caves containing 152 Buddha statues, along with frescoes and paintings.
In the afternoon, you may relax at the hotel pool or go on a jeep safari to Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Eco National Park depending on the season. You may see wild elephants if you are lucky.
Later, enjoy a traditional Ayurvedic treatment at the Thrimal Ayurvedic Center.

Day 06

Explore Sigiriya

In the early morning, climb Sigiriya Lion Rock. Wear sturdy footwear as the ascent is steep and the terrain uneven. If you do not wish to reach the top, you may explore the gardens at the base and take photos of the fortress from below.
Afterward, enjoy a traditional village tour. Travel by bullock cart and boat across a lake, watch a cooking demonstration at a village house, and learn how coconut fronds are prepared for roofing.
Later, hike up Pidurangala Rock.

Day 07

Sigiriya - Kandy

After breakfast, depart for Kandy. En route, stop at a spice garden. You may have lunch there and learn about the medicinal properties of various cooking ingredients and treatments.
Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa). Observe pilgrims dressed in white offering their prayers.
Next, enjoy the view from Sir Arthur's Seat viewpoint and take a walk along the Kandy lakeside. In the evening, attend a traditional dancing and drumming show at the Cultural Centre.
End the day with dinner at a restaurant located at Sir Arthur's Seat viewpoint.

Day 08

Explore Kandy

After breakfast, head to Pinnawala to visit the orphaned elephants. Watch the elephants bathing in the Maha Oya river and learn about making paper from elephant dung.
Return to Peradeniya to visit the Royal Botanical Garden. If interested, you may also visit a gem and jewelry workshop.

Day 09

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Begin your day with a drive to Nuwara Eliya, passing through tea plantations and mountainous terrain.
Stop first at Appachchi's Tea Shop for local snacks and a cup of black tea. Continue to Ramboda viewpoint to see Puna Ella and Ramboda waterfalls.
Next, visit Labokelle tea factory and plantation to learn about tea production. Afterward, proceed to Nuwara Eliya city.
Spend the evening with a walk around Nuwara Eliya city and Gregory's Lake.

Day 10

Nuwara Eliya - Ella

Depart from the hotel in Nuwara Eliya early in the morning. Hike 9 kilometers through Horton Plains National Park.
After the hike, take the scenic tea train journey to Ella. Disembark at Ella railway station and spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the town.

Day 14

Mirissa - Colombo Airport

After spending time on the beach in Mirissa, depart for Galle. En route, stop to see the fishermen on sticks. Explore the Galle Fortress, also known as the Dutch Fort.
Then board a train to Colombo. Enjoy a bus tour of the city, visiting Independence Square, Parliament, and the National Museum.
Conclude with a visit to the Barefoot Fairtrade Store. If visiting on a Saturday, explore the Good Market.
No accommodation. Depart from Colombo Airport.
